It’s been 9 months without a job. My savings are withering away at an alarming rate. My only hope was the pub at the port where I was spending my afternoons. The days were passing by, when finally, one evening, a boatswain spoke to me about a job offering. A whole year at sea. An extremely well-paid trip I would say. Didn't even ask where we would be heading or even what the cargo would be. I didn't care actually. I am really happy about leaving this place. It has been a really hard period for me. Hope I've got everything.
My train is leaving at dusk, I've been on the platform for some time by now, as I arrived early.
Time to buy some pens and pencils for my idle hours on the boat.
I will return in less than a year.
